UPDATE!!

I know I have been a horrible blogger but I haven't really had anything interesting or fun to say. I DO NOW! We finally got Jack's crib up Friday night it only took 1 1/2 hours to get put together and all I did was read the instructions...you should all be proud! I spent most of the day Saturday cleaning & Organizing the room. It's done! YAY! All I have to do is drop by Hobby Lobby on my way home from work & pick up his name for above his crib. He even has a few "friends" to hang out with!

Gardens

This past Sunday we went to the Japanese Gardens in the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens for their Spring Festival. We try to go every year at least one time (they have it again in October for the Fall Festival). We have so much fun looking at the plants listening to the drummers that perform eating sushi. I think Cipriano's favorite is the Fort Worth Bonsai Society they always set up displays and have starter plants for sale. They didn't have as many trees on display this year because of the Bonsai convention in Houston. We were invited to attend the convention this next year in Fort Worth I hope we can make it. I was more excited because this is the first time I got to use my new camera at the gardens I love taking pictures of the flowers especially the rose garden!

After numerous requests!

Ok so I know I am not good at keeping my blog updated! I sit in front of a computer at work for about 7 hours a day I don't really feel like coming home and playing on the computer when my lovely couch and TV feel neglected! (they miss me) This weekend we went to my parents house for my mom's birthday and to do our annual springinsh clean up! Boy we had our work cut out for us! (I say we but Cipriano did 97% of the work) We removed a grassy area and added decomposed granite to continue a walkway/patio that dad & I started 5 years ago. 5 years yeah a long time ago but we had ran out of energy & granite! It took us a long time to get the energy back to revisit this project, good thing I married Cipriano! We transformed the "dirt pile" into a raised planter, planted some plants that Carol & Becky had got mom for her birthday, trimmed the crape myrtle, rose, trees, installed a irrigation system along the fence for the cannas to help them get a good soaking in the summer also to get big & strong to provide a visual shield from the crappy neighbors yard. (They had dog crap and trash all over the yard absolutely disgusting. All in all we had a blast I love doing that kinda stuff.

Thanksgiving

Yeah I know it's the 2nd of December! We went to my parents house for thanksgiving Wednesday night so I could make the "green stuff" a staple in the Vance household (this awesome jello mixture) After finally finding the cookbook this is in I officially started my first Thanksgiving Dinner with Mom's supervision of course. After all four of them (My mom, dad, Adam & Cipriano telling me how) I felt like I worked for the State! I got up at 6ish to start the bird, Talk about nervous I didn't want to screw it up got it in and it was smooth sailing! Just like mom said! Overall I was real happy with the results and so were they. Of course it will never replace my moms which hopefully next year she can resume her place in the kitchen hierarchy. We napped and watched football napped somemore then Carol, Becky, Justin, Jessica, Scott & Annalise came over after dinner and caught up with everyone. Justin got an iPhone and was showing videos from youtube (this one in particular).

We got home Friday night and passed out talk about EXHAUSTED! Saturday we put up the Christmas tree & wrapped presents ( yes I already have presents and it's not Christmas Eve!!!) Other than that a great long weekend which was much needed!

MOM UPDATE!

Mom's doing as expected. She's such a strong woman and this stroke had made her feel week. Daddy is taking good care of her, she tells me everyday how truly blessed she is to have daddy. My Sister-in-Law & Brother have been a tremendous help for my mom & dad they've been bring dinner to my folks almost everyday & making sure their OK. I am so thankful that they are so close by and that they can help them as much as they have been. They are true blessings! I wish I could be there doing these type of things for them unfortunately bills don't pay themselves! They know that I would be there if I could and can be there in a heart beat if they need me. She had her sonograms of her heart & artery on Monday and Tuesday. Dad got to be in there with her for both of the tests, they both said it was pretty cool. The technician was showing them this is her heart going through all the visible body parts and of course Dad being Dad said at least she has a heart and it kinda looks like a gorilla. Keep in mind this is coming from the man when I was little we were going somewhere & we passed these fields and dad said look it's a cow or an ostrich. (they look so much alike) She has her doctors appointment on Monday where they will tell her exactly whats going on and what she needs to do to get better. Please keep our family in your prayers, we need all we can get.

Way too much!

I hate writing this! 2008 just plain sucks! My mom wasn't feeling very well last week to what she thought (well I thought) was an adverse reaction to the medicine they gave her for her back. She went to the Doctor and they sent her on to the hospital because she had a mild stroke recently. Of course we (Cipriano, Adam & I) go home to see mom and help out. She has limited mobility on her left side (of course she's left handed) she walks around like Egor with a cane poorly on Friday and much better on Saturday before we left. She goes back to the Dr. on Monday & Tuesday to get a better grasp on whats going on. Dads been a trooper and taking over the duties that mom has done on a day to day basis for 52 years today exactly. HAPPY 52nd MOM & DAD! She keep telling me how blessed that she has someone like daddy around, her "Big Strong Man" Shanna, my niece, sent her some flowers Saturday and Mom was able to talk with her which brightened her day being half a world away. I promised mom I would put pictures up of the quilt which I cram finished trying not to cry when I found out, knowing they were not going to be coming down for mine & Adam's birthday, & of the flowers that Shanna had sent.
